Questions: Installing Xbox 360 games help!?

I have recently installed Modern Warfare 2 to my xbox 360 to see if it will work. I have some questions. Will my disc still work if I were to delete MW2 from my hard drive? Can I reverse this download? What is the point of even downloading this to my hard drive other than making it run faster? And did it wipe my disc?

The sole purpose of installing a game from a DVD to your hard disk or any Xbox 360 portable memory is to play the game on the drive rather that on the actual game disk. This then cause the game to load faster (less loading and lag times depending on what game you're playing) and to avoid the wear and tear caused by multiple DVD repetitive playing. It doesn't wipe out the content of the DVD, it just installs (copy) most of its content on the drive and you still need the disc to play it on your console.
